On my first trip to Bolivia I was certain of one thing – I wanted to go to the Salar de Uyuni. I had wanted to go there ever since seeing a Discovery Channel documentary narrated by an Australian photojournalist who travelled across the Salar by jeep, on the trail of the legendary Butch Cassidy and the Sundance.

This is the first in a series where I will write about the story behind one of my photos. Today I’ve chosen one of my favourites, a photo of a girl that I took in Bolivia.
Bolivia, for those of you that haven’t been, is a photographer’s dream. There are so many interesting things to take photos of. Most of the places that I’ve visited in Bolivia have been in the high Andes – an incredibly photogenic and outlandish region. I’ve only spent a few weeks there, but one of my goals is to return and spend more time and take more photos.
